I guess I get the proverbial seven-year itch every five years, as I've spent 30 years in six diverse industries ranging from high-tech hardware, SaaS, financial markets, estate planning, tax planning and non-profit ministries.  My true passion is being a purpose-driven catalyst--I love inspiring, equipping and shepherding people to realize their individual goals, discover their purpose and live life to the fullest.  My burnt orange blood has been spilled often on basketball courts throughout Austin as the white guy who can't jump; I'm also the record-holder for the slowest athlete in the history of Texas 5A sports.  Since cryotherapy allowed me to once again use shoulders that belong in a scrap heap, I figured I should bring that blessing to my community.

Welcome to Champion Cryotherapy!

I was born and raised in Austin, matriculated to Texas A&M for my B.S. and then to SoCal for my doctorate. To extend my lacrosse career (I played at A&M), I now coach the Lady Vipers at Vandegrift High School. I spent two years learning from the best sports chiropractors in ATX, then launched Champion Sports Therapy in 2018. My goal is to help you achieve wellness and your highest level of performance, through resolving pain and optimizing muscle function and movement patterns. The techniques and therapies we use here at Champion Cryotherapy help not only heal injuries, but also prevent injuries, resolve chronic pain, and re-program muscles to move properly, efficiently and with greater force and endurance.

I am a native Texan and have been practicing medicine in the Austin area for 18 years now. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University where I received both Bachelors in Science and Bachelors in Art degrees. I received my degree in medicine from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara with further extensive training at New York Medical College. I performed my residency training and Chief Resident year here in Austin at Brackenridge Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Austin, and St. David’s Hospital.

I strive to provide my patients with excellent medical care with all the attention and service that they’d expect from a small town doctor philosophy.

I grew up in Texas before moving to Louisiana to complete both undergraduate and medical degrees at LSU.

After my internship and Urology Residency at the University of Texas/MD Anderson, I received extensive training in Robotics/Minimally Invasive Surgery, Urologic Oncology, as well as Female Pelvic Health/Urinary Incontinence and General Urology.

As an avid outdoorsman, I was called to the mountains of Steamboat Springs to join the Urology Clinic with Dr. Jamie VanOveren. In his spare time, Clay enjoys spending time with his family in the Colorado outdoors skiing, hiking, trail running, rock climbing, and mountain biking. He enjoys practicing all aspects of Urology and getting to meet patients from different regions of Colorado.
